Regular Faculty

Al-Fauz plans on working closely with the leading Muslim scholars in Toronto to achieve its vision.  To cover the breadth of topics that Al-Fauz wishes to cover over the coming years, we would expect to engage a vast majority of local Muslim scholarship to deliver courses, complimented by subject-experts from other parts of the world.  We expect to roll-out educational seminars and courses delivered by the following scholars over the next year.

Dr. Iqbal Masood Al-Nadvi

Dr. Iqbal Masood Al-Nadvi is a well-known Muslim scholar in Canada, one of few who have the authority to give an Islamic legal ruling (fatwa). He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Shariah (law), with specialization in jurisprudence (Fiqh) and taught the Islamic Shariah and Jurisprudence subjects in King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, for six years and dealt with various topics such as principles of jurisprudence (Usool Al-Fiqh), Islamic Culture, Islamic Political Thought, Islamic movements and Fiqh of Organization. He has memorized the whole Qur'an.

Dr. Al-Nadvi obtained his Oriental Degree in Islamic studies from Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow in 1967. He then completed higher secondary with merit in 1972, and in Arabic in 1969. Later he completed his BA from Bhopal University with majors in Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, English, and political sciences before moving to Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, he obtained his license in Shariah from Islamic University, Medina, Saudi Arabia in 1978 and his MA in Islamic law from Ummal Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia in 1983. He obtained his Ph.D. from the same university in 1991 after which he moved to the teaching position in Riyadh.

Dr. Al-Nadvi currently serves as Director of Al-Falah Islamic School in Oakville, Ontario since 2004, prior to which he served as a Calgary Imam from 1998-2004.

Shaykh Muhammad Zahid Abu Ghudda

Shaykh Zahid Abu Ghudda is one of the well-known and respected scholars in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). An expert in Hanafi Fiqh and tafseer of the Qur'an, he started his Islamic education under his late father Abdul Fattah Aboghodda--a great Shaykh and a renowned muhaddith. Later, Shaykh Zahid studied under various Muslim scholars from around the world, including: Shaikh Mohammad Al-Hajjar, Shaikh Mohammad Al-Hamid, Shaikh Mustafa Al-Zarqa, Shaikh Ahmad Al-Bayanouni, Shaikh Mohammad Ali Murad, Shaikh Abdulla Alwan, Shaikh Taher Khairallah, Shaikh Mohammad Ali Al-Sabouni, Shaikh Mohammad Saeed Al-Bouti, Shaikh Abdul Raouf AboTouk. (Syria). Shaikh Abu Al-Hassan Al-Nadawi, Mawlana Mufti Mohammad Shafi and his son Justice Mohammad Taqi Usmani, Dr. Abdul Razaq Iskandar, Mawlana Zafar Ahmad Tahanwi (Pakistan and India), Shaikh Mohammad Abdul Wahab Beheiry (Egypt), Shaikh Ismail Al-Ansari, Shaikh Mana’ Al-Kattan, Shaikh Mohammad ibn Ibrahim, Shaikh Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Sawaf (Saudi Arabia), and Shaikh Mohammad Hamidullah (Paris).

Imam Umar Farooq Dogar

 

Ustaadz Umar Farooq Dogar is an Imam in Mississauga and a scholar of Usul al-Fiqh and Tajweed. He obtained his Masters degree in Islamic Studies from Karachi University and was the recipient of a Gold Medal for his academic excellence. He received his certification in Dars-e-Nizame at Mansoorah (Sindh) and he completed his memorization of Quran (Hifz-ul-Quran) from Jama-e-Haneefia in Karachi.

Ustaadz Ayub Hamid Miyyaan

Ustaadz Ayub Hamid Miyyan is an author with several published books on Islamic beliefs and aqeedah, Islamic revival and reformation of personality.  He is a regular Imam and Khateeb in the Toronto area.
